Fulton Beach Bungalows is just a short 1/2 block walk to Aransas Bay for all our kayaking, fishing and sunset watching friends. There is not a more relaxing, laid back environment for adults wanting to get away from it all.
Here is a picture of Bungalow #11, ‘Blue Crab.’ It has a double & twin bed with linens, tiled shower bath with linens, kitchen with large and small appliances & kitchenware, living area with cable TV, sceened porch, privacy patio, BBQ grill.
Tomorrow on the bay there is going to be an amazing firework show and we’re expecting perfect weather here in Rockport-Fulton, Texas.

The Rockport Aquarium is about a 10 minute drive from the bungalows. They offer FREE ADMISSION and working there are some very kind volunteers to answer any questions you may have about sea life in our bay. They are open Monday-Thursday from 1-4pm. Rockport-Fulton is a bird lover’s paradise. Chances are while you’re driving or walking down Fulton Beach Road, you’ll see a few photographers set up and waiting for the perfect shot. It is this weekend, April 15, 16 and 17 and we are talking super cool sand castle creation! And if you are really good you can qualify for The World Championships of sand sculptures. So bring your cameras and your smiles because this is going to be fun. We’re an easy 25 minutes from Port A and you are welcome to give us a call about our availability. Many love to come back to our relaxing, laid back bungalows after a busy day at SandFest. Why not drive down to the Texas coast for The Seventh Rockport Herb Festival this Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. ? It’s being held at The Paws and Taws Convention Center which is right down the street from our Bungalows. It looks like fun and their expecting a best selling author as a speaker. Visit the blog ‘Rockport Herbies’ to find out more and read their helpful herb tips. If you need a place to stay while you’re in town, give us a call.
Who said Rockport-Fulton doesn’t have a beach? The Award Winning Rockport Blue Wave Beach Park is a 5 minute drive down the road from the Bungalows so if you’re staying with us and feel the urge to build a sand castle, we have you covered. The Rockport Beach is a place where you can swim, fish, picnic and is considered a bird sanctuary.
This weekend you’ll find muscle cars, foreign, Mgs, race cars and even pre-1941 antique cars at the 19th Annual Rockport Sports and Classic Auto Show at the Rockport Beach Park. There will be judging, vendors and there’s even an opportunity to sell your car. Click the orange Auto Show link above for information. If you’re our guests this weekend and you’re a sucker for beautiful cars, add this as a must do to your day. It’s a simple and short few minute drive to the auto show from our Bungalows.
One thing you can count on in Fulton, TX? There’s no shortage of picture perfect bird moments. Bring your camera next time you visit. These photos were taken just to the right of our Palapas. You’ll board his boat just down the street from our Bungalows.

Rent some kayaks from down the street and push off right from in front of The Bungalows on Aransas Bay. No two night minimums this weekend, you can stay Saturday or Sunday night only with no problem.
Seeing our sign from this angle? Then you’ve got a great view! You’re on Fulton Beach Road and Aransas Bay is just a few feet to your right. Did we mention that our palapas are at the water’s edge and they are a great place to see full moons rising? When it came to restoring the bungalows, staying true to it’s era when decorating was very important to us. Before buying the bungalows, Gene and I were antiques dealers which came in very handy. What we didn’t have, we found and with a lot of love and after a long journey, the bungalows are what you see today; a must stay for adults visiting Fulton Beach. We are super friendly, so if you want to join us under a palapa for drinks and great conversation, you don‘t have to twist our arms. On the other hand, our feelings won’t be hurt if you want to keep to yourselves. The best place to enjoy a full moon rising in Texas? Our front yard. No kidding. Back in 1997, Gene and I headed to Fulton Beach to watch the full moon rising over the water. It’s one of my favorite pastimes. While down here, we happened upon an old dilapidated and uninhabited vintage 1940’s style tourist court that ran along Prairie Rd down out to the water. Immediately I was enchanted and couldn’t get the property out of my mind. The following year, we came back down to Fulton Beach and drove over to see if the tourist court was still there. Not only was it still there but out in the front yard was a For Sale sign. To make a long story short, 14 years later, visitors know the 1940’s tourist court today as ‘The Fulton Beach Bungalows.’ There’s more to the story, but Gene and I will save it for your next visit to the Bungalows and maybe over some oysters and a beer. For now, enjoy a short video a guest took of the moon out over the water at the Fulton Pier.

What’s Oysterfest you ask?
Why, it is a festival in Fulton, Texas for you oyster loving folks out there looking for any excuse to stuff yourself with these bites of deliciousness from the sea. And to be honest, Oysterfest isn’t just for oyster lovers. Guests will enjoy great food, a parade, carnival and of course oyster eating and shucking contests. This year will mark the 32nd Oysterfest which is sponsored by the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department.Oysterfest is the first week , March 3rd – 6th at the Fulton Navigation Park.
